Module 05 · Foundations · 8 min

Your month has a contour. Learn to read it.

Your money left to live gave you the month's truth; the calendar gives you its geography. Because €671 available doesn't feel the same when rent falls tomorrow as when it falls in three weeks — this module teaches you to see the dips before you hit them.

Due dates carve out the month

A due date is a fixed charge with an appointment: rent on the 1st, internet on the 5th, insurance on the 12th. The amount was already promised — module 4 taught you that — but the date draws the contour: it decides when the money actually leaves the account.

In Ozorys, the calendar gathers these appointments on a single page: every day carries its operations, real or planned, and the month reads like a map. No line ever springs up "by surprise" any more — the surprise was simply the missing map.

Key takeaway

The amount says how much; the date says when. A budget that ignores dates is a map with no contour lines: accurate, but dangerous in the mountains.

The early-month dip

In most households, the big due dates crowd into the first few days: rent or loan on the 1st, insurance, subscriptions. The result: an account that looks comfortable on payday shrinks by half within a week — and anyone who didn't see the dip coming spends freely at the worst moment.

It's the lesson of module 1 projected through time: the balance on the 1st still lies, as long as the month's due dates haven't cleared. The workshop below shows it to you day by day — watch what's truly available take shape before your eyes.

The month fast-forwarded — demonstration

On the 1st, the account shows €1,650.00. Play the thirty days and watch the due dates carve out what's truly available — it's the lesson of module 1, projected through time.

Setting the tempo: shift, spread

The month's contour isn't fate: it can be negotiated. Many providers will happily move a debit's date — aim for the days right after payday, and the debit will cross the month without ever brushing the red. Ten minutes on the phone, years of peace.

As for the annual ambushes — insurance, taxes, December's gifts — you already know the weapon: spreading them over twelve months, from module 4. A dedicated envelope, one twelfth each month, and the giant due date becomes a small, docile fixed charge.

The right reflex

Note your payday, then list your three biggest due dates. If one falls just before payday, that's the one you call first — to move it just after.

Seeing months before you live them

The calendar reads the current month; Time Travel reads the ones ahead. Every future month opens with its due dates already in place, its expected income, and its projection: your end-of-month money left to live appears before the month even begins.

This is where the method reaches its full height: anticipating stops being a talent and becomes a gesture. You'll know in July that November will be tight — and November, warned since summer, will frighten no one.

Let's make sure it stuck

Six questions, instant correction. Your answers never leave this page — of course.

1. A due date, in Ozorys terms, is…

A due date is the fixed charge made visible in time: promised amount + known date. The calendar doesn't change its nature, it reveals its contour.

2. The "early-month dip" comes from…

Rent on the 1st, insurance, loans: the first days often carry most of the weight. Seeing it is what stops you enduring it.

3. Your balance on the 1st reads €1,650. What is it really worth?

It's the lesson of module 1 applied to time: as long as the month's due dates haven't cleared, the raw balance lies. The workshop showed you day by day.

4. The best date for a debit you can negotiate?

A debit set just after payday crosses the month with no risk of going overdrawn. Many providers will move the date: ten minutes on the phone, years of peace.

5. A large annual expense (insurance, tax) is tamed by…

It's the module 4 reflex: provisioning in twelfths turns the annual ambush into a small, regular, predictable fixed charge.

6. Ozorys Time Travel lets you…

Every future month shows its due dates and its projection: your end-of-month RAV reads before it's lived. Anticipating becomes a gesture, not a talent.

Today's challenge

Open your calendar and place your three biggest due dates of the month if they aren't there. Spot your dip. If a debit falls just before your payday, note the provider's number: the ten-minute call that changes your month-ends is this week.
